25. pet parrot
Flying has impressed man ever since Icarus tried his hand at it. It's a different story that he couldn't make it. Many of us have wanted to fly freely in the air, without any inhibition or any traffic rules. I have always envied birds for their ability to soar so high and be so close to the world of the clouds. Birds have therefore always interested and impressed me. Parrot behaviour varies as much as mine would from yours. Some problems in parrot behaviour include biting, screaming and feather plucking. Each problem in parrot behaviour has a specific reason. Some parrots may develop phobias. As a parrot owner for the last twenty years, I think the best way to react to parrot behaviour problems is to try and understand the thought processes of these highly intelligent birds.
Parrots can be classified under the group of exotic pets. Exotic pets are often used to refer to describe non-traditional pets as differentiated from a dog, cat or fish. It can also be used to describe something that is foreign, Children generally love to have pets, no question about that. The question is whether a certain pet is right for a child’s age, health and over-all capabilities. Taking in a pet is a chosen responsibility which has to be taken seriously, for the benefit primarily of the chosen animal. Having a pet is like having an additional member of the family.
These parrots live in moist woodlands and on the edges of the grasslands. They primarily feed on seeds, fruits, and grains particularly the seed of locust beans and newly formed buds of a various trees.A Senegal parrot's diet should consist of a good quality seed mixture of nuts, seeds, lean meat, biscuits, fruits, and vegetables-either raw or cooked. Vitamin and mineral supplements are also given to meet the nutritional need of the parrot. Hand reared Senegal parrots are the most suitable pets because they are small enough to handle and can be placed in a medium sized parrot cage. All of the birds at Parrot Island were raised locally except for those raised by one out-state breeder. The primary breeder we used up until a few years ago was New World Aviaries
